Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food safety and preparation, with a keen interest in creating delicious meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our catering options maintain high standards of quality and service, when serving food in either our main centre for school groups after they have been out on adventures in Anglesey or in our bar (The Paddlers Return).

Duties

Prepare, cook and create a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Creating a variety of daily specials for our guests
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate and lead kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service during busy periods.
Lead inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.
Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing offerings.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained in good working order.
Assist as key holder, opening and closing The Paddlers Return
A key team member to the development of the kitchen team and growth of the Paddlers Return and Anglesey Outdoor's catering offer

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Proficient in food preparation techniques, with an understanding of various cooking methods.
Culinary skills that demonstrate creativity and attention to detail in meal presentation.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy restaurant environment.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask under pressure.
A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.

Contract

We are offering an annualised contract for the Head Chef position. This supports you with a consistent weekly income during fluctuating shifts/ weekly hours due to area seasonality, school residentials and closing during the winter.
