Absolute Tree Care and Gardens are looking for a motivated and reliable Grounds worker / Arboriculture Operative to join our growing team working across Chester, Cheshire, and North Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in arboriculture, tree surgery, or grounds maintenance who is looking to develop their career within a professional and safety-focused company.
About the Role
The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of arboricultural and grounds maintenance operations including:
- Tree removals and dismantling
- Hedge cutting and vegetation clearance
- Crown reductions, lifting, and thinning works
- Grounds maintenance and site clearance
- Chipper operations and timber processing
- Supporting climbing arborists on-site
- General landscaping and outdoor maintenance duties
You will be expected to work safely, professionally, and efficiently as part of a team while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience within arboriculture, tree surgery, forestry, or grounds maintenance
- Experience using grounds maintenance machinery
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Chainsaw qualifications including:
- NPTC 201 (CS30)– Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross Cutting
- NPTC 202 (CS31) – Felling Small Trees
- NPTC 203 (CS38) - Accessing a tree using a rope and harness & aerial tree rescue operations
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Woodchipper qualification
- Utility arboriculture experience or qualifications
- First Aid at Work qualification

We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to work flexible hours with a guaranteed minimum 30 hours a week, you may be required to work in adverse weather conditions, this is a physically demanding job.
