William Hughes Civil Engineering Ltd is a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Llangefni, Anglesey, delivering high quality water, sewerage, coastal and environmental projects across North Wales.
Due to continued growth, and a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking a reliable and hardworking HGV Driver to join our team operating our 18 tonne and 7.5 tonne tipper lorries. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected family-run business with a long-standing reputation for quality, safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating HGV tipper vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections, ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
- Transporting materials, plant and equipment to and from sites.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, plant and equipment.
- Support site teams with general civil engineering activities when driving duties are not required.
- Adhere to all road transport legislation, company policies and health & safety procedures.
- Adhering to all company health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with site managers and operational teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Valid HGV licence, CPC & driver card.
- Good understanding and knowledge of driver hours, tachograph regulations & vehicle compliance requirements.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Reliable, flexible & able to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within civil engineering, construction, or utilities sectors.
- CSCS Card.
- Plant operation experience / qualifications.
- Knowledge of North Wales road networks & supplier sites.

Please note:
This is a dual-role position. In addition to driving duties, the successful candidate will be expected to support site teams with general civil engineering activities when vehicle operations are not required. Flexibility, a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the wider team are essential.
