Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference. Our **Barnardo’s Gardeners** support us to carry out general gardening duties and tidying of outdoor areas in our regulated settings, such as Children’s Centres and Nurseries. There may also be the opportunity to support in the delivery of outdoor learning activities with our young people, supporting them during their transition from being a young person to an adult. What You’ll Do • Maintaining outdoor areas with an emphasis on safety for young people. • Maintaining any flower beds, planters, shrubs and vegetable patches as required. • Assisting in the planning, preparation and delivery of outdoor gardening activities. • Supporting young people to gain confidence in working within the outdoors Why Volunteer? Tasks: Maintaining outdoor areas with an emphasis on safety for children and families.
