Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. In this vital role, you will support the kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop your culinary skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
Support chefs and kitchen staff in cooking, and plating food efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
Follow food safety protocols diligently to uphold hygiene standards and prevent cross-contamination
Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries, storing ingredients correctly, and monitoring stock levels
Use of Deep fat fryer/ hob/ oven/ grill, knives etc for food prep
Monitor and record fridge temperatures
Monitor and update allergens information
Onsite laundry ( Teatowels / Aprons)
Previous experience in catering, restaurant kitchens, or food service environments is highly desirable
Hands-on cooking or culinary experience demonstrating familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting
Experience with food preparation equipment such as knives, mixers, ovens, and other kitchen tools
Strong understanding of hygiene practices related to food handling and sanitation
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
