We are looking for a Guest Experience Assistant to join our team at Deep Sea World.
Join the team at Scotland’s National Aquarium where we offer visitors the chance to experience the UK’s longest underwater viewing tunnel, mysterious coral reefs, majestic sharks and our amazing seal sanctuary. Over 40 displays, including the 4.5-million-litre Underwater Safari with its walkthrough tunnel, are home to hundreds of fascinating creatures, ranging from seals and seahorses to stingrays and giant sand tiger sharks. Located beneath the world-famous Forth Rail Bridge, Deep Sea World is the place for you!

Job Description
Working to the core values and operational standards of Deep Sea World, the role of Guest Experiences Assistant creates memorable guest experiences by anticipating customer needs, being engaging, attentive, knowledgeable and delighting at all times through interactive talks, tours, demonstrations, photo opportunities, conservation and education sessions and ensuring the gift shop is well presented at all times.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- To be courteous, pleasant and approachable at all times when dealing with the public in order to establish a lasting positive image of the aquarium
- Responsible for promoting and participating in public presentations and education sessions, as well as conversing with our visitors whilst carrying out your daily duties around the aquarium.
- Conduct engaging presentations and educational programs about aquatic species, habitats, and conservation.
- Promote conservation messages and responsible behaviour towards aquatic ecosystems.
- Responsible for delivering world class customer service at all times.
- Responsible for delivering creature encounter presentations, including correct care and use of resources provided and following all procedures.
- Responsible for presenting our “Access All Areas” tours where correct rules and procedures for quarantine must be followed.
- Responsible for delivering educational sessions to groups and schools that include a wide range of ages and support needs.
- To deliver exciting, entertaining and educational birthday parties when requested ensuring that all aspects of the birthday party are catered for.
- Operation of all front of house tills, responsible for processing till transactions efficiently and effectively.
- Provide office assistance for sales, administration, marketing, bookings and telephone enquiries.
- Responsible for management of Education, Dive and Birthday bookings, including entering information accurately into our systems.
- Maintain high standards of stock control, product presentation and shop cleanliness
- Create, refresh and maintain engaging and exciting shop displays
- To ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times.
