Our Finance team plays a vital role in supporting the business, ensuring accurate financial processes and building strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Finance team at our Head Office.
The Purchase Ledger Clerk is responsible for managing the purchase ledger process from invoice receipt through to reconciliation. This role ensures supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, stores and internal departments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Finance team by resolving invoice discrepancies, maintaining supplier accounts and ensuring all purchase ledger activities are completed within agreed timescales.
- Match, check and accurately code supplier invoices.
- Process high volumes of purchase ledger invoices in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve quantity and price discrepancies with Goods In, Purchasing, Stores and Suppliers.
- Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing supplier records.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding queries.
- Ensure invoices and supporting documentation are accurately filed and maintained.
- Perform accurate data entry across finance systems.
- Act as the first point of contact for purchase ledger enquiries.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes to increase efficiency.
- Support the wider Finance team with additional administrative tasks as required.
- Previous experience within a high-volume Purchase Ledger environment.
- Demonstrable bookkeeping experience.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using financial software packages.

- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
