Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Volume Metric and Concrete Pump Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating concrete pumps and measuring concrete volumes accurately to ensure efficient and safe delivery on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, commercial driving experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Operate concrete pumps safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate placement of concrete as per project specifications
- Measure and record concrete volumes using appropriate tools and techniques
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of pump equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Drive lorries or specialised vehicles to transport equipment and materials between sites, adhering to all traffic regulations
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of pump systems at various locations
- Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate operations effectively
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to supervisors
Skills
- Proven experience operating concrete pumps and related machinery
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor faults and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Commercial driving licence (preferably with relevant vehicle endorsements)
- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in volume measurement and equipment operation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor construction environments
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety procedures
