Directorate: Public Health, Public Protection, Engagement & Communities
Pay Level: 8, £48,277 - £53,509 (fully inclusive of local weighting allowance)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in the office)
DBS requirement: Basic

What you’ll be doing:

The Emergency Planning and Resilience Manager will lead, manage, motivate and develop the Emergency Planning and Response teams within Slough. The postholder will coordinate multi‑agency and where necessary cross‑Berkshire working; and to maintain a comprehensive, regularly audited and updated suite of emergency plans, procedures and the equipment to implement them - covering the full breadth of risk from individuals and communities to borough‑wide incidents - in order to fulfil the Council’s duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your director.

26 days annual leave (not including Bank holidays), rising to 30 days between 2 - 5 years' service and 33 days after 5 years' service.
