The Endoscopy Department is a specialist service dedicated to delivering high quality gastrointestinal care in a modern, patient-centred environment. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians and healthcare professionals, the department focuses exclusively on digestive health, enabling the delivery of efficient, evidence based care and excellent patient outcomes. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Endoscopy team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of outstanding patient care within a specialist gastrointestinal service, working alongside leading consultants and experienced healthcare professionals. You will play an integral role in ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and personalised care throughout their endoscopy journey.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist with the preparation and running of procedure lists, support patients before, during, and after procedures, and help maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment. Deliver high quality, patient-centred care within the endoscopy service.
Prepare endoscopy rooms, equipment, and consumables for procedures.
Support patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.
Assist clinicians during endoscopic procedures and provide appropriate patient support.
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Undertake extended clinical duties, including IV cannulation, where trained and competent.
Participate in team briefings, service improvement initiatives, and the development of colleagues and junior team members.
You are a caring and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with patients, families, clinicians, and colleagues. You are adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a fast paced clinical environment while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and experience.
You will be able to work flexibly to meet service needs and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Previous experience within an endoscopy setting would be advantageous, although individuals with relevant healthcare experience, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to high standards of care are encouraged to apply.
