Compare the Market is looking for an exceptional Deputy Editor to help shape the next era of our content strategy: someone excited by innovation, energised by the opportunities AI presents, and motivated by the responsibility that comes with creating trusted financial guidance at scale.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our content meets the highest editorial and compliance standards, empowering consumers with the knowledge they need to make confident and savvy financial decisions.
From insurance and broadband to credit cards and loans, you’ll oversee compelling, multi-platform content across every stage of the process – from ideation and optimisation through to final sign-off.
If you have deep personal finance knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and the commitment to lead in a high-performance team, you could be the person we’re looking for.
Some of the great things you’ll be doing:
Ensuring editorial excellence: using your laser-focused editing skills to ensure every piece of content is accurate, engaging, FCA-compliant and genuinely useful to consumers navigating important financial decisions.
Driving exceptional performance: monitoring and hitting KPIs including output, accuracy, traffic and conversions.
Helping shape our SEO and AIO strategy: working at the intersection of content, SEO and AI as search behaviour evolves beyond traditional platforms. You’ll help us adapt to a ‘search anywhere’ mindset and ensure our content remains visible, trusted and impactful wherever consumers discover it.
Supporting multiplatform content: advising on content across channels including email, app, social media and video, ensuring consistency, quality and consumer value throughout.
Contributing to our strategy: assisting the Editor and Head of SEO in developing and delivering Compare the Market’s content strategy in an evolving digital landscape.
Collaborating across the business: from commercial and product to social and UX, you’ll be talking to different people every day. Expect to learn a lot from others and share your own expertise, too.
What we’d like to see from you:
Experience in a similar editorial role with deep expertise in personal finance content.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy – you care deeply about getting things right and can spot a typo from a mile off.
A strong understanding of compliant and transparent financial promotions.
The ability to simplify complex financial topics into clear, engaging and genuinely helpful content.
Excitement about AI and curiosity about the opportunities and challenges it presents for content creation and discovery.
Strong SEO knowledge and an understanding of how search is evolving.
A collaborative mindset and confidence working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
Experience coaching and developing writers to produce their best work.
Strong commercial awareness and comfort working with performance metrics.
