Flexographic Printer – Job Description
Role Overview
As a Flexographic Printer, you will operate and maintain flexographic printing press (BOBST M4, Mark Andy) to produce high-quality printed materials on substrates such as self-adhesive paper and film. The role involves setting up printing plates, mixing inks, and monitoring print quality while ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 8 colour flexographic printing press (BOBST M4, Mark Andy).
- Mount printing plates and cylinders correctly.
- Prepare and mix inks to required colour specifications.
- Adjust machine settings (speed, pressure, alignment) to ensure print quality.
- Monitor print runs for colour accuracy, registration, and consistency.
- Inspect printed materials for defects and maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Troubleshoot mechanical or printing issues during production.
- Maintain production records and job documentation.
- Follow health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Experience operating flexographic printing presses.
- Knowledge of printing processes, substrates, and inks.
- Ability to read job sheets and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
Working Hours / Shift Pattern:
This role operates on a two-shift rotation from Monday to Friday:
- Morning Shift: 05:50 – 13:25
- Afternoon Shift: 13:25 – 21:00
On Fridays, shorter shifts apply:
- Morning Shift: 06:00 – 12:00
- Afternoon Shift: 12:00 – 18:00
