Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker with experience in 360-degree excavation to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with site preparation, operating machinery, and supporting various construction activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, requiring mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate excavators and commercial vehicles. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within the construction industry.

Duties

Assisting with ground preparation, including digging, trenching, and site clearance using 360-degree excavators
Operating heavy machinery such as excavators in a safe and efficient manner
Supporting the mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment on-site
Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials using appropriate equipment
Conducting routine maintenance checks on machinery and reporting any faults or issues
Supporting other team members with general labour tasks as required
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and site protocols

Experience

Proven experience operating 360-degree excavators in a construction or civil engineering environment
Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction machinery and equipment maintenance
Experience in commercial driving, including operating lorries or similar vehicles for site logistics
Familiarity with health and safety procedures on construction sites
Previous experience in groundworks or civil engineering projects is advantageous but not essential

This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and a proactive approach to teamwork. Candidates should be organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of work throughout their employment.

Pay: £15.26-£22.82 per hour
