An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team supporting End User Technology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

The ICT Directorate is responsible for all IT infrastructure and related services at GOSH including IT hardware & software and many clinical and non-clinical IT systems and applications, for example the Imaging suite and Microsoft 365 which encompasses email, Office, SharePoint and Teams.

The ICT End User Technology Team is integral to the smooth running of IT services.

The successful candidates will have a general IT knowledge covering the areas below:

General customer service, including strong rapport building and communication skills
Asking probing questions to aid troubleshooting with users that have varying degrees of IT competency
Use of ITSM tools
Creating, updating and generally maintaining documentation and the knowledge base
ITIL knowledge – Overview / Foundation
Using remote tools to assist with first time / line fixes

Main duties of the job

Some of the role’s main duties, responsibilities and expectations include, but are not limited to:

Provide first- and second-line support for Trust-approved devices and software
Take end-to-end ownership of assigned incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution within SLAs
Prepare, configure, and deploy endpoint devices (including imaging, application installation, and peripheral setup)
Identify and report potential security risks or policy breaches
Record and maintain accurate information within the Trust IT service management (ITSM) tool including troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and user communications
Support implementation of endpoint security controls (patching, device compliance, endpoint protection)
Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users in clinical environments

Essential criteria

Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including English and Maths grades A-C

Desirable criteria

Relevant ICT qualification (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals) OR equivalent practical experience in an IT support role
