Project Manager – Impact (ECMC)

£37,000 - £42,000 plus benefits

Reports to: Network Engagement & Impact Lead (ECMC)
Directorate: Research & Innovation
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 35 hours per week
Location: Stratford, London Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Project Manager to support the delivery of impact, evaluation and reporting activity across the ECMC network. This role plays a key part in ensuring that programme outputs, outcomes and insights are effectively captured, analysed and communicated to demonstrate value and inform strategic decision-making.

The ECMC Network – jointly funded by CRUK, the NIHR, health departments of the devolved nations, and the Little Princess Trust is a UK wide network of centres that conduct early phase trials and associated translational research. The Programme Office is housed by CRUK and supports the network in a variety of ways. You can learn more about the network and the Programme Office here . The network is made up of 17 adult centres and 12 paediatric locations across the UK. Each ECMC has unique and world leading expertise within early phase clinical research. Collaboration across the ECMC network gives us the edge in generating new treatments for cancer.

You will contribute to the development and implementation of evaluation approaches, helping to ensure consistency in how impact is measured across programmes. Alongside this, you’ll produce clear and timely reporting, turning data into meaningful insights that can be understood by a range of audiences. You’ll also support the creation of engaging communication materials that showcase impact and increase visibility of ECMC activity.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you’ll help coordinate projects, maintain delivery plans, and monitor progress against key milestones. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact work across a collaborative and purpose-driven network.

What will you be doing?

Support the implementation of evaluation approaches across ECMC activities to enable consistent measurement of outputs, outcomes and impact
Delivery reporting processes and outputs to ensure more timely, accurate and accessible insight on ECMC programme activity
Analyse and interpret data to produce clear summaries and materials that communicate impact to a range of audiences
Support the development of communication outputs using impact evidence to increase the visibility and understanding of ECMC activity
Develop and maintain project plans and tracking tools to ensure delivery of agreed workstreams to time and quality
Monitor progress and identify risks to enable timely escalation and resolution
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to support delivery of projects and activities
Support the coordination and delivery of meetings, events and engagement activities to facilitate collaboration across the network

What are we looking for?

Experience of supporting data collection, reporting or evaluation activities to track delivery against objectives
Experience of using project management tools, processes or methodologies
Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of projects or workstreams
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely
Experience of analysing and interpreting data to produce summaries or insights for different audiences
Good organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
Relevant experience contributing to reports, publications or outputs involving health, research or scientific content
Proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to identify issues and contribute to solutions
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field
