Job Overview
THE ROLE

As a Working Pipefitter Supervisor you will lead a team of pipefitters on-site while remaining hands-on with the installation work yourself. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your gang, quality of workmanship, site safety, and progress reporting to the project manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supervise and direct a team of pipefitters and apprentices on-site.

· Carry out skilled pipefitting and fabrication work alongside your team.

· Interpret and work from engineering drawings, isometrics, and specifications.

· Ensure all work is completed to programme, specification, and quality standard.

· Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and on-site inductions.

· Monitor and enforce compliance with RAMS, CDM regulations, and company health & safety policies.

· Liaise with the project manager, other trades, and the client as required.

· Identify and report any issues, variations, or delays promptly.

· Assist with material take-offs and ensure adequate materials and tools are available on-site.

· Mentor and develop junior members of the team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Time-served pipefitter with a recognised trade qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).

· Minimum 5 years' post-apprenticeship experience in commercial or industrial pipefitting.

· Proven supervisory or leading-hand experience.

· Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.

· Experience with a range of pipework systems including copper, carbon steel, stainless steel, and CPVC.

· Knowledge of health & safety legislation and site safety requirements.

· CSCS / JIB card (gold or above) — essential.

· First Aid at Work certificate — desirable.

· Strong communication and team leadership skills.

· Full UK driving licence — desirable.

Pay: From £220.00 per day
