ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Do you have experience supporting students with SEN? Harris Academy Greenwich is seeking to appoint an exceptional, experienced Assistant SENCO to cover maternity leave.
This is a non-teaching position. The actual salary will be £39,744.13 (37.5 hours per week, 42 weeks per year).

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The purpose of your role will be:
- To support the SENDCo in providing professional leadership and management to remove barriers to learning where they exist for students with SEND.
- To provide professional guidance on SEND to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies and assuming delegated responsibilities in negotiation with the SENDCo.
- To support the academic progress of students with SEND through small group or 1:1 interventions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Knowledge and understanding of national priorities, current curriculum development and an ability to design and implement an innovate curriculum based on students’ needs
- A thorough understanding of quality assurance techniques
- An appreciation of student motivation
- An understanding of how professional development contributes to the raising of quality
- SEN experience in a secondary school
- Evidence of pastoral experience
- Experience of working with key stakeholders such as parents, governors, employers etc
