UK-Based (On-Site, Hybrid or Remote)
We work with a range of UK employers actively hiring across these roles
About the Roles
We're looking for experienced BI Developers and BI Analysts at all levels—from BI Developer and BI Analyst through to Senior, Lead and BI Engineer positions—for upcoming roles across commercial, customer, product, finance, marketing and operations reporting. These are hands-on roles where you'll own the layer that turns warehouse data into the dashboards, semantic models and self-service tools the business actually uses to make decisions.
You'll work across the full BI lifecycle—from gathering requirements and modelling data through to building, optimising and maintaining production reporting assets. The role suits someone who pairs strong SQL and modelling discipline with a designer's eye for how a dashboard should land with its audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to capture reporting requirements and translate them into BI deliverables
- Design and build production-grade dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau, Looker or equivalent
- Develop and maintain semantic models (DAX, LookML, Tableau data models) that scale across the organisation
- Build and optimise data marts and reporting layers in the warehouse
- Write efficient SQL against cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, Databricks)
- Implement BI governance—version control, refresh schedules, access management, documentation
- Improve dashboard performance, reduce query cost and tune model design
- Partner with data engineering peers to surface and resolve upstream data quality issues
- Champion self-service analytics—build the curated layers that let business users answer their own questions
- (For Senior/Lead) Set BI standards, mentor junior developers, lead larger reporting and modelling initiatives
What You'll Bring
Technical Expertise:
- Strong SQL proficiency against modern cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, Databricks)
- Deep hands-on experience with at least one major BI platform (Power BI / DAX / Power Query, Tableau, Looker / LookML, Qlik or equivalent)
- Solid grasp of dimensional modelling, semantic layers and reporting layer design
- Familiarity with ELT tools (dbt, ADF, Fivetran, Matillion or similar)
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows and BI deployment pipelines
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data preparation and automation is a plus
- Understanding of access control, row-level security and BI governance patterns
Delivery & Soft Skills:
- Stakeholder management—able to draw clean requirements from messy conversations
- Visual design sense and an eye for how dashboards are actually consumed
- Storytelling—able to explain what a number means, not just how it was calculated
- Strong attention to detail and validation rigour
- Collaborative approach with data engineering, analytics and product peers
- Comfortable learning new tools, datasets and business domains
Domain Flexibility:
- Roles span commercial, customer, product, finance, marketing and operations reporting
- Background in any of these is welcomed; appetite to learn an adjacent domain valued just as much
Experience Level:
- Minimum 2+ years for BI Developer / Analyst, 4+ for Senior, 7+ for Lead / BI Engineer
- Background in BI, analytics engineering, data warehousing or related discipline
- Examples of production dashboards, semantic models or reporting platforms you've owned end-to-end
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on commercially meaningful reporting where dashboards drive real decisions
- Exposure to modern BI platforms, semantic modelling tooling and cloud data warehouses
- Roles at the level you're ready for—we're hiring across the BI spectrum
- A collaborative environment where modelling rigour and design quality are both valued
- Clear scope to develop specialist platform expertise or stay broad across reporting domains
- Flexible working arrangements (on-site, hybrid or remote) and supportive team culture
