About Us

The Orpheus Centre is a specialist college that uses the arts to promote personal development in young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We support young disabled adults to discover what they can do — building confidence, independence and creative skills through the performing arts. Location: The Orpheus Centre, Godstone, Surrey

Salary: £27,764 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time, 52 weeks per year)

Contract: Permanent

The Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Student Recruitment Coordinator to manage the admissions journey from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

This is a rewarding and varied role where you’ll work closely with prospective students, families, local authorities, and internal teams to ensure a smooth, supportive, and efficient recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full admissions cycle – enquiry, application, assessment, offer, funding, and enrolment
Act as the first point of contact for prospective students, parents, carers, and professionals
Coordinate college tours, taster days, and recruitment events (both on-site and virtual)
Review applications and supporting documents, including EHCPs
Liaise with local authorities regarding placements and funding agreements
Maintain accurate records and track applicant progress throughout the process
Support enrolment and ensure data is recorded on internal systems (MIS)
Build and maintain relationships with feeder schools, providers, and external stakeholders
Provide admissions data and reports to senior leadership
Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a positive student experience

About You

You will be highly organised, detail-focused, and an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience in an administrative or education setting
Understanding of SEND and EHCP processes
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Desirable

Experience in FE admissions or recruitment
Knowledge of Databridge, SIMS or similar systems
Experience working with local authorities
Experience supporting young people with SEND
