Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cleaner or Helper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery setting. This role is vital in ensuring the health and wellbeing of children by providing a hygienic space. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cleaning tasks efficiently and to high standards, contributing to a positive experience for children, staff, and visitors. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a caring team committed to maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine cleaning of nursery areas, including play zones, restrooms, and staff rooms
Disinfect toys, furniture, and surfaces regularly to ensure hygiene standards are met
Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and empty bins as necessary
Restock cleaning supplies and toiletries to ensure availability at all times
Assist with organising storage areas and maintaining cleaning equipment in good condition
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management
Support staff with additional cleaning tasks during busy periods or special events

Requirements

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
Ability to work independently with attention to detail and organisation skills
Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude towards hygiene standards
Comfortable working in a childcare environment and adhering to health and safety regulations
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Flexibility to work during scheduled hours, including early mornings or late shifts if required
