We are looking for an experienced building supervisor to oversee the daily operations, safety, maintenance and administration of our residential building to ensure it runs smoothly and remains safe for our tenants.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Building Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections of building facilities, such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical systems and lighting and Fire systems.
- Monitor and report minor repairs (e.g. fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, painting etc through a Helpdesk function).
- Notify via Helpdesk function any emergency maintenance requests from tenants or building occupants.
Cleaning and Upkeep
- Ensure that all Reception public areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms etc.) are cleaned regularly.
- Oversee waste collection and disposal and ensure the premises are litter-free.
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas, such as the parking area and landscaping.
Security and Safety
- Monitor and maintain building security systems, including locks, alarms, and CCTV.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and fire legislation and oversee safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency situations such as fire alarms, accidents or building evacuations during normal working hours.
Tenant and Visitor Interaction
- Be first point of contact for tenants, visitors and contractors, providing a helpful and courteous service.
- Assist with tenant requests and inquiries.
- Inform tenants of any scheduled maintenance, repairs or building-related issues.
Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain supplies such as cleaning products, light bulbs and basic repair materials.
- Order new supplies as needed and keep accurate records of inventory.
Building System Coordination
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs or larger maintenance projects.
Administrative Duties
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and supplies.
- Report building-related issues to building management via Helpdesk function.
- Assist in preparing the building for inspections or audits.
Application Criteria:
- Must have previous experience in a similar role to include cleaning and basic maintenance inspections.
- Basic IT skills as will be required to use emails and Excel
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
- Good communication and customer service skills for dealing with tenants, visitors and contractors
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures.
- Must be willing to undergo DBS check and be able to provide references
- Previous experience as a Fire Marshal is preferred though training will be provided
- Knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling, Health & Safety
Pay: £35,007.00 per year

- London E3 3QH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
