Full job description

Location: Hayes, West London
Salary: £30,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week + overtime. Shifts are scheduled between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

About the Role

As a Driver / Warehouse Operative, you’ll play an important role within our growing business. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll spend time both on the road delivering products to customers and supporting the warehouse operation to ensure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll handle and deliver ambient, chilled and frozen food products to our diverse range of customers across London and surrounding areas. It’s all about moving stock safely, loading and unloading cages or pallets, and ensuring our customers receive their deliveries on time and in excellent condition.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being busy and working within a supportive team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our Warehouse Team, you will:

Deliver food products safely and professionally to customers across London
Drive company vans and support transport operations
Collect stock from suppliers when required
Load and unload products using cages, pump trucks and forklift
Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately
Assist with goods receiving and stock organisation
Ensure all products are stored correctly within ambient, chilled and frozen areas
Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records
Carry out vehicle checks and keep vehicles clean and tidy
Support the Warehouse Supervisor with daily operations
Help maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment

You’ll be moving around throughout the day, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.

About You

You are someone who is willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. You’re reliable, hardworking and take pride in doing a great job every day.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

Previous delivery driving or warehouse experience
Confidence driving vans and working within London routes
Possess a Full UK Driving Licence which has been held for at least 2 years
Applicant must be over 23 years old for insurance purposes
3 years minimum residency required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Good level of numeracy and English language
Ability to work under pressure, and always remain calm and respectful to others
A positive, can-do attitude
Good attention to detail
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work up to 6 days per week when required
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical capability to lift, move and unload stock safely

Experience within foodservice, wholesale or logistics environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
