About Us
The Lodge Studios is a professional podcast and content recording studio based in East London. We work with business owners, entrepreneurs, and creators who are serious about building their brand through high-quality audio and video content.
We're launching and building a small pool of freelance Studio Managers to run client sessions. This is not a traditional employment role, and we want you to understand exactly how it works before you apply.
How This Role Works
This is a freelance, session-based position. You are not employed on a fixed schedule. Instead, you connect your personal calendar to our booking system, and when a session is confirmed that matches your availability, you receive an automatic notification with all the session details.
You show up 30 minutes before the session to prep the studio, run the session, hand over files, and you're done.
Bookings typically come in 24 to 48 hours in advance. Sessions are most common in the mornings, evenings, and across weekends. You will only be required when a session is booked and confirmed against your availability.
This suits someone with flexible availability who is not looking for a fixed weekly schedule.
What You'll Be Doing
- Arriving 30 minutes before each session to prep the studio
- Greeting clients and ensuring a professional, smooth experience
- Setting up cameras, microphones, and lighting for each session
- Managing session timing and keeping things on schedule
- Assisting with file transfers and handover after sessions
- Keeping the studio clean, organised, and client-ready
- Informing clients about our additional services including editing, social media clips, and VIP packages
- Engaging clients naturally and professionally with a view to upselling where appropriate
Pay Structure
Pay is tiered based on session length, so longer sessions earn more. On top of your base session pay, you earn performance bonuses for successfully upselling clients to additional services such as editing, clips, and monthly packages.
The more you engage clients and convert them to additional services, the more you earn per session. Full pay details will be shared at the interview stage.
Skills and Experience
You do not need to be a professional audio engineer or videographer, but you should be comfortable around equipment and willing to learn quickly.
Useful experience includes:
- Sony mirrorless cameras or similar
- Studio microphones and basic audio mixers
- File management and storage
- Familiarity with content or podcast workflows
- Basic knowledge of editing software or DAWs
Full training will be provided.

- Confident and personable, comfortable with business owners and creators
- Reliable and professional, clients are counting on you to show up and deliver
- Organised and proactive, you run the session without needing to be managed
- Genuinely interested in content, podcasting, or media
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Lives reasonably close to E16 so short-notice sessions are not a problem

This is a freelance role with no guaranteed hours. Pay is session-based and scales with length and performance. If you are looking for a fixed salary or guaranteed weekly hours, this role is not the right fit.
