Job Type
Full-time (Short trial period leading straight to Permanent)
About Us
HomeTechWare is an electrical, security, and smart home technology integration outfit operating across London. We deal with residential and commercial installations. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working Electrical Improver to join our team.
You will be paired directly with our Lead Electrician (10+ years experience). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced improver who has moved past the green trainee stage, has some solid site grafting under their belt, and wants to work on varied projects and day-to-day problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- First and Second Fixing: Assisting with first-fix labor, containment, routing, and clean, efficient second-fix installation of standard power, lighting, and grid plates.
- Fault Finding: Familiarity with basic fault-finding, with a strong willingness to learn more complex diagnostic skills.
- Problem Solving: Bringing creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to handling day-to-day on-site challenges.
- Testing: Ideally, some initial exposure to testing and inspection procedures.
- Other trade skills: any additional trade skills are welcomed
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of actual, hands-on site experience (not just classroom hours).
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical Installation Diploma (City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent).
- Credentials: Valid ECS/CSCS card and a Full UK Driving License.
- Tools & Transport (Trial Only): Your own standard hand tools, basic power tools (SDS drill, etc.), and the ability to travel reliably to various sites across London during the initial trial with your own vehicle.
- Traits: Reliable, punctual, physically fit for demanding site work, and ready to take direction and hustle alongside a senior mentor.
The Opportunity
There will be a fairly short trial period (fully paid) to make sure you're the right fit for the role, with a view to bringing you on fully. Once permanent, we will provide you with a company van and fuel card.
For the right candidate, we would look to have you train and qualify further and grow with us. We want someone who wants to progress their career and become a long-term asset to HomeTechWare.
Please don't treat this as just another job. We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their craft and wants a real future with us.
