About the Role

The post holder is part of a team responsible for managing formative and summative assessments and feedback across the MBBS programme, including mapping assessments to the MBBS Curriculum Map Intended Learning Outcomes aligned with the General Medical Council’s Outcomes for Graduates.

The post holder provides administrative support for the Academic and Deputy Academic Leads for Assessment and assists with the coordination and delivery of assessments and processing and publication of results for summative and formative Applied Knowledge Tests (AKT) and Clinical and Professional Skills Assessments (CPSA); supports the development and quality assurance of assessment processes and delivery; uses bespoke assessment software and databases to manage online assessments; and supports the MBBS ePortfolio.

The team liaises with the MBBS Academic Year and Module Leads, the MBBS Curriculum Team and MBBS Placements Teams to coordinate academic content and local delivery of assessments to a consistent standard; and with a broad range of key academic and professional services staff across UCL and its partner NHS trusts and Primary Care.

The post holder is responsible for providing a high quality and timely service to staff and students to underpin and enhance medical education and the medical student experience. The post holder works to Standard Operating Procedures in an agreed MBBS template.

The post is hybrid with two days per week office based (more on-site days required during exam periods).

Appointment details:

The post is graded at GRADE 7, the annual salary for which ranges from £43,981 to £52,586 (including London Allowance).
The appointment is available from August 2026 and is a permanent position.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced education administrator ideally educated to degree level, or with equivalent professional experience. They will be skilled in working with electronic media including being able to work confidently with complex spreadsheets, databases and records systems. Their communications and interpersonal skills will be excellent and they will be able to coordinate their own work in order to meet deadlines and provide effective and supportive joint line-management of an Assessments Administrator. They work as part of a team but are also able to work independently. Providing a high-quality service is important to them and they proactively work to improve systems and process. They will ideally have had previous experience of working in assessments and/or in a medical education context.
