Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and flexible Production Operative to join our warehouse and food production team. This is a hands-on role working across multiple areas, including the tortilla room, frying room, sauce kitchen, and picking and packing departments.
The role suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in food safety and hygiene, and is happy to support different tasks as required.
Who We Will Consider
We welcome applications from people with direct experience in food production, food handling, catering, kitchens, hospitality, or hygiene-focused environments. Candidates with backgrounds as waiters, waitresses, chefs, kitchen assistants, cleaners, or food production operatives will also be considered where they can demonstrate relevant experience and the mandatory requirements listed above.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently.
· Assist with the preparation, production, and packaging of food products in line with HACCP and food safety procedures.
· Work across the tortilla room, sauce kitchen, frying room, warehouse, picking, and packing areas as needed.
· Carry out routine checks of equipment and report maintenance needs, faults, or potential issues promptly.
· Maintain accurate production, quality, and cleaning records using software, databases, and other digital systems.
· Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and contamination-control procedures at all times.
· Clean and sanitise work areas, machinery, and equipment to maintain high hygiene standards.
· Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement by following company procedures and safety protocols.
· Work as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
Essential Requirements
· Direct experience in food production, food preparation, food handling, catering, kitchen work, hospitality service, or hygiene/cleaning work in a food environment.
· Computer literate, with the ability to use basic software, databases, and digital records accurately.
· Fluent in spoken and written English.
· Able to follow written and verbal instructions carefully.
· Able to complete simple measurements, checks, and calculations accurately.
· Reliable, organised, flexible, and willing to work across different departments.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on food manufacturing environment.
· Committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
Desirable Experience
· Previous experience in food manufacturing or warehouse production.
· Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
· Basic mechanical awareness or experience working with machinery.
· Experience in cleaning and sanitising food production areas or equipment.

Work Location
This is an in-person role based at Cool Chile Co, W3 0TH. This role is not suitable for home working.
