CLUB MANAGER AT THE WATERSIDE CLUB
As Club Manager at our client’s exclusive residential development at Waterside, you will lead the smooth day-to-day running of the wellness and leisure facilities, creating an exceptional experience for residents while ensuring the highest standards of service, safety, and presentation.
You will lead, support, and develop the Duty Managers and wider team, ensuring successful daily operations, outstanding resident engagement, high safety standards, equipment readiness, and a welcoming club environment. You will also oversee a dynamic calendar of resident activities and wellness events, helping every visit feel engaging, enjoyable, and memorable.
You will be responsible for maintaining the highest levels of safety, operational excellence, and community engagement. Working closely with the Regional Operations Manager and Estate Management Team, you will oversee poolside safety, fitness propositions, class delivery, stock control, team scheduling, and event execution. Your passion for leisure, strong leadership, and people-focused approach will help create a vibrant social hub where residents feel welcomed, safe, and connected.

Key Responsibilities:
General:
· Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, appearance, and conduct at all times.
· Act as the primary point of contact for resident enquiries, feedback, and day-to-day issue resolution.
· Lead, supervise, and develop the Duty Managers and wider team, ensuring high standards of service, presentation, and operational readiness across all shifts.

· Deliver exceptional, personalised service and ensure the team anticipates residents’ needs.
· Ensure all SOPs for cleanliness, hygiene, and luxury standards are consistently followed.

Operations:
· Oversee the day-to-day running of the club, including opening and closing procedures and routine facility walk-throughs.
· Manage the deployment of Duty Managers and team resources, including rotas, shift cover, and standards of performance across the club.
· Ensure gym and pool safety protocols are maintained, including enforcing club rules and overseeing the completion of water-quality testing.
· Manage stock control processes including stock takes, ordering, receipt of deliveries, and invoice checks.
· Oversee payment administration and maintain accurate operational records and reporting.
· Coordinate bookings and logistics for treatment rooms, classes, and wellness events.
· Drive personal training activity and support the achievement of revenue-related targets where applicable.
· Maintain the appearance and readiness of all public areas through regular inspections and prompt follow-up.
Customer Experience & Community Building:
· Lead the planning and delivery of social and wellness events (e.g., yoga, sound healing, wellness workshops) that foster community spirit.
· Oversee enquiries and bookings for daily use and special events, ensuring a smooth resident experience.
· Ensure onboarding induction tours and re-orientation are delivered to new and returning residents.
· Gather resident feedback and use insights to continuously improve the club experience.
· Ensure the team delivers warm welcomes, anticipates needs, and handles resident interactions professionally and discreetly.
Health & Safety:
· Ensure opening and closing safety checks, pool and spa water tests, and routine facility inspections are carried out and documented as scheduled. (full training will be given)
· Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including NPLQ and Pool Plant Operator standards where applicable.
· Act as Emergency Responder/First Aider when required, responding calmly and effectively to incidents.
· Report accidents, near-misses, and defects promptly to the Regional Operations Manager and Estate Management Team where appropriate, and lead follow-up actions.
· Maintain accurate records of safety checks, incidents, and training activities.
Training, Learning & Development:
· Lead the training, coaching, and day-to-day development of Duty Managers, Personal Trainers, and other club team members.
· Organise regular training on service standards, safety procedures, and community-building techniques.
· Create and maintain personal and team development plans.
· Stay up to date with hospitality and leisure trends and embed best practice across the team.
Skills and Experience
Must-haves:
· Proven experience in a management role within a health club, leisure, hospitality, or residential amenity environment.
· Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
· Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
· Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with POS systems, stock-management software, and Microsoft Office.
· Demonstrable emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and sound decision-making skills.
Desirable:
· Experience in luxury health clubs, hospitality, or high-end residential amenities.
· Pool Plant, first aid, or equivalent health and safety qualifications.
· Experience delivering events, wellness programming, or managing third-party service providers.
Remuneration
· Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
· Additional income may be available by delivering Personal Training sessions off shift, where applicable.
· Eight-hour shifts, five days a week on a rolling rota (including some weekend and evening shifts).
