Location: Sheffield / London / Hybrid Working

(Expectation that you will attend an office 2 days per week)

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)

Salary: From £50,000 (Sheffield) / £60,000 (London) depending on experience

The Role

In this role you will focus on investments and play a key role in supporting the appraisal and due diligence of new direct equity investment opportunities, with a particular emphasis on Life Sciences. You will undertake scientific, commercial, financial and investment analysis, including modelling and detailed review of company performance and forecasts. You will also coordinate external advisers and work closely with internal Legal, Risk and Finance teams throughout the investment process, support the execution of transactions, and contribute to portfolio monitoring, reporting and wider team activity across the Direct Equity portfolio.

You will have demonstrable knowledge of venture capital investing in Life Sciences and a commercial understanding of high-growth businesses. You will bring to the role an excellent analytical capability, including financial analysis and modelling, alongside exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and the confidence to build relationships internally and externally. You will take a collaborative and proactive approach and be comfortable working effectively in a small, agile team. A degree is essential for this role and experience supporting investment transactions or working in venture-backed, start-up or growth environments would be advantageous.
