The Gherkin is recognised as one of the most distinctive skyscrapers in the City of London. On the ground floor of the Gherkin you will find The Sterling. A bar and restaurant that offers fantastic spaces for after work drinks, meetings, corporate events, wedding receptions, special occasions, work lunches and dinners or simply a bite to eat or drink with friends.

Job Description:
We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Waiting / Bar Staff. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering excellent service, ensuring our customers have a positive and enjoyable experience from the moment they walk in the door. If you’re passionate about hospitality, love working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy making people smile, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Waiting Staff:
- Greet and seat customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Take food and drink orders accurately.
- Serve food and beverages to customers with attention to detail.
- Clear tables and maintain cleanliness in the dining area.
- Provide recommendations and answer customer inquiries about the menu.
- Process payments and manage cash/credit transactions.

Bar Staff:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Create cocktails, handle drink orders, and ensure the bar area is stocked and clean.
- Interact with customers in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
- Monitor customer intoxication levels and serve responsibly.
- Assist in keeping the bar area organized and well-stocked.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience in a hospitality role (waiting or bar staff) is preferred but not required.
A friendly and approachable demeanor with excellent communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering great service.
A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
