Overview

This private tutor position is self-employed and ideal for part-time work. You must be available for in-person tuition in London.

All clients are based in London and typically request one-hour sessions per week in their homes, so you gradually build up your client base over time.

Our approach includes a thorough consultation and assessment to create customised learning plans, matching each student with a tutor suited to their unique needs and goals. At Park Town Tutors, we focus on fostering academic success through individualised attention.

Role Description

This is a part-time and flexible role for a Private Tutor based in London. The Private Tutor will provide one-on-one tutoring to students, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and goals. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering engaging and constructive sessions, monitoring student progress, and providing detailed feedback after each session.

Qualifications

Teaching expertise including a strong grasp of curriculum requirements and exam preparation techniques
Ability to design personalised lesson plans, assess student progress, and modify approaches to meet individual needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish a supportive and positive learning atmosphere
Prior experience in one-on-one tutoring or classroom teaching (or working towards TEFL/PGCE)
Capability to provide constructive feedback and motivate students effectively
Proficiency in using technology for online tutoring, if required
Bachelor’s degree
Experience working with students of different ages and learning abilities is advantageous
