Who we’re looking for
The right person will combine a strong understanding of the professional studio environment with proven ability in organisation, administration and client service.
You may come from a recording, engineering or production background and have developed strong administrative, operational and client-management skills through other roles. Or you may come from a label, agency, production company or other music-industry environment while also having substantial professional studio experience.
You should have a genuine interest in organisation, high standards and delivering an excellent client experience. The role requires someone who is comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, keeping track of a high volume of enquiries and bookings, coordinating people and schedules, and ensuring important details are not missed.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in the quality of their work, communicates professionally, stays composed under pressure and enjoys bringing structure to a busy environment.
You should be able to understand a recording or mixing enquiry, recognise what information is missing and know what questions need to be asked before quoting it.
You should also have the technical judgement to understand which engineers are appropriate for different sessions.
You need to:
- Be articulate, personable and commercially aware
- Write professional emails quickly
- Stay calm under pressure
- Keep track of many moving parts
- Take ownership of problems
- Care about client experience and studio quality
- Enjoy working quickly and getting a lot done
This can be a busy and sometimes intense role. Some people find that draining; others genuinely thrive on the pace and responsibility.
We are looking for the latter.
Working hours
Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday.
This is a 100% on-site position with no regular work-from-home days.
Recording studios do not operate strictly within office hours, so writing camps, important sessions and occasional operational issues can require some evening or weekend flexibility. During particularly busy periods, working weeks may occasionally reach up to approximately 48 hours.
Salary & benefits
£30,000 base salary + monthly performance bonuses.
For someone performing well, realistic annual earnings are approximately £35,000–£40,000+.
In particularly strong years, an additional discretionary annual performance/retention bonus can increase total compensation further.
Benefits include:
- Free studio time outside working hours when available
- Free rooftop sauna and cold plunge access
- Work with a talented and welcoming team of engineers, producers and runners
- Regular exposure to exciting emerging artists and established international clients
- Opportunity to manage larger projects and work with major-label artists and commercial clients
- Significant autonomy and responsibility
- Opportunity to contribute ideas around systems, technology, client experience and growth
- Creative working environment at Netil House
- 20% discount at selected local food stalls and restaurants
- Comfortable modern office space with coffee and tea
