Full job description

Barfly Camden is looking for outgoing, reliable and music-focused promoters to help grow awareness of the venue, its events and its wider weekly programme.

As part of the promotional team, you’ll be supporting Barfly across club nights, bar activity, karaoke, open mic nights, special events and venue campaigns. This will include helping promote Propaganda Indie Club Night as it launches at Camden Assembly, alongside the rest of the venue’s programming.

We’re looking for people who know Camden, understand the local scene, and genuinely care about grassroots music venues. You don’t need years of promo experience, but you do need to be confident, approachable, proactive and comfortable speaking to people.

The aim is simple: help get the right people through the doors, build awareness locally, and make sure more people know what’s happening at Camden Assembly.

Duties will include:

Promoting Barfly events, club nights, bar activity and weekly programming.
Distributing flyers and promotional materials around Camden and relevant local areas.
Supporting promotion for events including Propaganda, karaoke, open mic nights, live music and other venue activity.
Helping build relationships with local audiences, students, music fans, businesses and people in the Camden area.
Assisting with social media activity, including sharing posts, helping capture content and supporting online promotion.
Supporting occasional box office or front-of-house duties during events where needed.
Representing Camden Assembly positively both inside and outside the venue.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Camden and its local nightlife, music and cultural scene.
A genuine passion for grassroots music venues, live music, club nights and local events.
Confidence speaking to members of the public.
Strong communication and people skills.
Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
Comfortable working evenings and weekends.
Friendly, professional and enthusiastic attitude.
Previous promotional, street team, hospitality, events, nightlife or social media experience is useful, but not essential.

About you:

You’ll understand that Barfly is more than just a room with a stage and a bar. It’s part of Camden’s live music and nightlife culture, and we’re looking for people who want to help shout about what’s happening here.

You’ll be comfortable talking to people, handing out flyers, spreading the word online and offline, and helping build awareness around the venue and its events.

Job type:

Part-time / casual promotional work

Pay: £13.00 per hour
