Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Design and build efficient, production‑ready rigs for characters, creatures, facial systems, and props
Develop deformation systems (skin weighting, corrective shapes, muscle systems, blendshapes)
Collaborate closely with Modeling, Animation, CFX, and Pipeline teams
Troubleshoot and optimize rigs for performance and stability
Create facial rigs (blendshape‑based, joint‑based, or hybrid)
Maintain clean, scalable rig structures suitable for large pipelines
Write and maintain rigging tools and automation scripts where required
Support animation teams by fixing issues and implementing requested enhancements
Adhere to naming conventions, documentation, and versioning standards
Deliver rigs on schedule and to technical requirements

Required Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of anatomy, movement, and deformation principles
Expert knowledge of Maya (industry standard)
Solid experience with skinning and deformation workflows
Experience creating body and facial rigs
Proficiency in Python scripting for rigging tools and automation
Understanding of animation workflows and animator needs
Ability to debug technical issues under production deadlines
