Full job description

Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity to join an established and friendly accounts team at a Barristers’ Chambers, to assist with the essential smooth administration of Chambers to the highest professional standards.

The Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day financial operations of 7 KBW Ltd, ensuring the financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently. The role will involve assisting with the purchase ledger, maintaining the nominal ledger, bank reconciliations and general finance administration.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organised and able to work independently whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Processing staff expenses and reconciling company credit card transactions.
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems, using Xero accounting software.
Raising monthly Barrister statements and managing the monthly collection process.
Performing regular bank reconciliations.
Assisting with statutory reporting requirements.
Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
Supporting the wider business with finance-related queries.
Undertaking other ad-hoc administrative and finance duties as required.

Personal Specifications:

Educational background and relevant experience in Accounting/Finance.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, in person and in writing.
Excellent attention to detail and consistently high levels of accuracy.
Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and to use initiative.
Excellent writing and numerical skills.
Experienced user of Xero accounting software.

What Chambers can offer

Part-time working. A minimum of 21 hours per week, with working hours between 09:00 and 5:00 pm to be arranged. Open to discussion.
Possibility of some remote working after probation.
22 days holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays.
Training according to what is identified as useful by you and the Finance Manager.
Pension.
Season ticket loan (after probation).

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
