Receptionist / School Services Officer
3 days a week;
(Mon, Tue, Wed – 8am - 5pm)
40 weeks a year (Term time plus 1 week in the summer)

We are seeking a highly organised, personable, and proactive Receptionist / School Services Officer to join our dedicated team. This is a vital front-facing role at the heart of the school, where you will provide essential administrative support while creating a welcoming and efficient front office environment for students, staff, parents, and visitors.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for the school, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception and student services. You’ll combine excellent communication skills with strong administrative capability to support both students and staff in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome all visitors, ensuring safeguarding and security procedures are followed
- Provide support to students, including managing queries and recording late arrivals
- Handle telephone calls, emails, and messages using school communication systems
- Respond efficiently to enquiries, using initiative to resolve issues
- Manage incoming post and coordinate deliveries across the school
- Maintain and update records, databases, and reception information
- Support first aid provision (training/support provided where required)
- Supervise and allocate tasks to the Student Receptionist
- Organise work collection for absent students
- Provide administrative support to the Attendance Officer and Head of School Services
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Experience with SIMS, Wisepay, or similar systems is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- A calm, diplomatic, and professional manner
- High levels of discretion and confidentiality
