Customer Support Specialist (Remote) – Fixed-Term ContractRole Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Customer Support Specialist on an initial 3-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and business needs.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day customer interactions across phone, email, and live chat channels, resolving enquiries and providing basic technical support. The role involves ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, addressing customer concerns, troubleshooting product-related issues, and gathering customer feedback to help improve service quality and the overall customer experience.

We are looking for a proactive individual who takes ownership of customer issues and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills. The successful candidate should be confident in investigating and resolving issues independently wherever possible, using sound judgement and available resources before escalating matters. While support from management is always available when required, the role is best suited to someone who can work autonomously and make sensible decisions within established processes.

Qualifications

Proven customer support experience with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of customers.
Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting product-related issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and resolve customer challenges independently.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and work with minimal supervision.
A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to meeting customer needs.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple enquiries effectively in a remote working environment.
Proficiency with customer support and CRM software is advantageous.
Previous experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or a related sector would be beneficial.

London Health Company (LHC Lab) is a London-based, CQC-regulated private diagnostic laboratory providing professional blood testing services directly to consumers across the UK. What sets LHC Lab apart is its fully integrated, end-to-end model: the company manages every stage in-house, from test kit production and sample receipt to laboratory analysis and results delivery, with no third-party intermediaries involved.

The Model

Customers order a home blood collection kit online, collect a small capillary blood sample via a finger-prick test, and return it to the laboratory using the included prepaid Royal Mail Tracked 24 envelope. Test results are delivered securely by email, typically within 24–48 hours of sample receipt. No GP referral, clinic appointment, or travel is required.

Quality & Regulation

The laboratory operates to NHS-equivalent standards, using state-of-the-art analysers overseen by qualified laboratory professionals. Accuracy and quality are independently verified through participation in RIQAS® (Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme), one of the world's largest external quality assessment programmes, with over 76,000 laboratory participants across 140 countries, and Bio-Rad EQAS®. Specialist tests not performed in-house are referred to The Doctors Laboratory (TDL), a UKAS-accredited laboratory partner.
