Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer specialising in solar power installation and maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems with a focus on integrating solar energy solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, electrical systems, and mechanical components to ensure safe and efficient solar power integration. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems suitable for solar panel integration
- Safely operate and handle various hand tools and power tools required for roofing and solar installation
- Use excavators and other heavy machinery as necessary for site preparation and material handling
- Perform welding tasks to secure structural components when required
- Conduct electrical connections and wiring for solar power systems in compliance with safety standards
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to roofing structures and solar equipment
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including the use of appropriate protective gear
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently within specified timelines
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing, preferably with a focus on solar power installation or renewable energy projects
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical systems
- Electrical experience or background is highly desirable for handling wiring and system connections
- Experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of safety standards related to roofing, electrical work, and construction sites is essential
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics related to solar installations
