Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer Roofer to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing solar energy systems on rooftops, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and delivering high-quality workmanship. Responsibilities
- Install solar panels and related equipment on various types of rooftops, adhering to safety and quality standards
- Prepare work sites by assessing roof structures and ensuring proper access and safety measures are in place
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to secure solar modules and mounting systems
- Conduct roof repairs or modifications as necessary to facilitate installation
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators when required for site preparation or material handling
- Perform welding tasks when needed to secure mounting brackets or structural components
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely within designated timelines
- Conduct inspections of installed systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with electrical codes
- Maintain a clean work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in roofing, electrical work, or solar installation preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with welding techniques is advantageous
- Experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery is desirable
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and basic wiring principles
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to roofing, electrical work, and construction sites
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Relevant certifications or licences related to roofing, electrical work, or construction are a plus
