Full job description

Cromwood Housing Group exists to support vulnerable people by providing high quality homes that enable them to take the next steps in their lives.

Working alongside a range of organisations, it’s enabled us to deliver the right homes in the right places at the right time – whether it’s temporary accommodation or permanent homes.

We are recruiting for a professional and experienced Neighbourhood Housing Officer to serve as the key liaison among tenants, the lettings team, and support networks, playing a pivotal role in sustaining tenancies. Operating as the frontline observer, you will required to promptly and effectively address any tenancy issues that may arise.

This role involves travelling to sites in the South London area daily to provide direct support and management to the residents/tenants.

Reporting to: Lettings & Tenancy Manager
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm
Contract type: Permanent/full time
Area: South London area
Salary: £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Benefits: 30 days annual leave plus Jewish and public holidays, Company pension scheme, bonus scheme based on performance levels at 5% of salary, Company car and health & wellbeing portal

Neighbourhood Housing Officer main duties include:

Signing tenants up to the property, ensuring that they are aware of all aspects of the tenancy and their rights according to government legislation.
Providing correct information to tenants regarding re-housing, benefits or any other relevant tenancy issues.
Undertaking regular visits to the property to deal with any tenancy related issues.
Responsible for ensuring tenancies are managed effectively, tackling unacceptable behaviour in an open and constructive manner.
Dealing with any potential complaints received, this may include reports of anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance, property condition and environmental issues.
Enforcing tenancy conditions accordingly whilst working with other members of staff to ensure this is understood.
Working closely with customers and offer advice to help promote positive behaviour.
Keeping records, reports and other admin related to their duties.
Ensuring that vulnerable residents are signposted to key agencies.
Providing appropriate support in the capacity of a landlord

Requirements for the Neighbourhood Housing Officer role include:

Previous experience as a Housing Officer, overseeing a number of different sites
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Good conflict management skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Innovative, pro-active, and highly motivated
Experience of dealing with ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour)
An understanding of issues around housing law, rights of tenants and landlords and laws relating to repairs (Desirable)
Able to carry out property visits across the designated area
Good record keeping skills
Problem solving skills
A good understanding of Workplace Health & Safety regulations and procedures (Desirable)
Ability to interact with people from a wide range of backgrounds
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) desirable
The post holder will be subject to a standard DBS check paid for by Cromwood
A full valid driving licence
