Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase expertise in traditional Indian cuisine, particularly tandoori cooking, within a dynamic restaurant environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing authentic dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes with authentic flavours and presentation standards.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow during service hours.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Manage food production schedules to ensure timely delivery of dishes to customers.
Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders when necessary to prevent shortages.
Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before serving to customers.
Uphold excellent customer service by assisting serving staff when required and engaging with guests professionally.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or similar culinary role specialising in Indian cuisine.
Demonstrable supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations.
Experience in food production, team management, and leadership within hospitality settings.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly in fast-paced environments.
Good understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance related to tandoori ovens.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant schedule.
