The research undertaken at the UCL School of Management has been rated as ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ in the Research Excellence Framework 2021 (REF), placing us 2nd in the UK for Business and Management. The School is accredited by both the AACSB and AMBA, and is a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
The School is home to over 2,300 students, with more than 55% from outside the UK, who study across a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, executive and PhD programmes. These programmes prepare our students for leadership roles in the next generation of tech-intensive organisations and new ventures, as well as in finance and consulting firms.
This is an exciting time to join the UCL School of Management, which has been undergoing rapid expansion since 2025 to deliver a new strategy that will see staff and student numbers double over the coming years. This growth includes new degree programmes, additional staff, and enhanced facilities at our Canary Wharf campus, supporting our mission to educate socially conscious entrepreneurial leaders equipped to tackle the world’s greatest challenges.
Further information about the School can be found here.
This new role will support the UCL School of Management’s alumni team in strengthening engagement with our growing alumni community in East Asia. The role will help strengthen the School’s global reputation in the region by cultivating a highly engaged alumni community and will work closely with colleagues from across the School who also focus on East Asia (including Global Engagement, Marketing and Careers).
With a focus on scaling activities in East Asia, this role is responsible for supporting the philanthropic pipeline by developing and leading event programming, community and volunteer management, and utilising relevant social media platforms to engage our diverse alumni network. The role will also develop strong ties with Chinese alumni based outside of China. The Alumni Officer (East Asia) will take ownership of alumni data for the region, leading data updates and interpreting data to support and influence strategy.
Key requirements include previous experience in alumni relations and community building in an East Asian context, event management, adept relationship management, strong English and Mandarin communication skills and attention to detail. The role will also require international travel.
The Alumni Relations Officer reports directly to the Alumni Relations Manager and collaborates closely with various School teams, including Teaching and Learning, Communications and Marketing, Careers, Corporate Relations, Global Engagement and Student Experience.
This post may require evening or early-morning work and international travel.
