As a General Assistant, you will support the operations by completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while ensuring quality and meeting the required targets.

Job Summary:

We are currently looking to recruit General Assistants to join our team based in Colindale to work in the Hot Kitchen department. You will support the operations by completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while ensuring quality and meeting the required targets. You must be a great communicator with a can-do attitude!

What will life as a Kitchen worker in the gategroup Team look like for you.

£13.00 per hour
Overtime @ 1.25 times the hourly rate
8 hour shifts with start times ranging between 07:00 - 09:00 in the morning. (shift patterns could be based o any 5 of 7 or 4 on 2 off shift patterns)

Main duties

General washing, sorting, assembling, packing and positioning of the aircraft equipment
Process and strip trolleys including off loading and sorting equipment/waste
Measure and weigh ingredients according to specifications
Daily stock count of the list
Support Food preparation activities in the Kitchen for cooking requirements
Pack food liners in accordance with written specification
Conduct temperature, quality, and product date checks
Receipt, handling and appropriate storage of all incoming goods and coordinating / managing stock
Stock rotation
Clean the area

Qualifications:

Educated to High School level.

Work Experience

Ideally some experience in a production/Kitchen environment
Previous work experience in a Japanese / Asian kitchen preferred but not essential
Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

Skills & Knowledge

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene advantageous but not essential
Good understanding of English both reading and writing
Positive attitude to work
Able to work to tight deadlines
Team worker
