Full job description

Job Overview

Join our team as a Waste Collector and be a vital part of maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible community. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for collecting, transporting, and disposing of waste materials efficiently and safely. Your efforts will directly contribute to the health and well-being of the neighborhoods we serve. Responsibilities

Operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently throughout designated routes
Collect waste, recyclables, and other materials from residential or commercial locations
Use mechanical knowledge to handle various waste collection equipment and tools
Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly to load and unload waste containers or bins
Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations during collection activities
Maintain accurate records of collection activities, route completion, and any issues encountered

Qualifications

Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively on a daily basis
Mechanical knowledge or experience with vehicle maintenance is preferred
Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
Strong attention to safety procedures and environmental standards
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
Prior experience in waste collection or related field is advantageous but not required
