We are now recruiting enthusiastic and energetic Holiday Camp Assistants / Sports Coaches to join our team supporting our Summer Holiday Camp programme in Putney across both private and state school settings.

- WEEK 2 - Monday 13th July – Friday 17th July
- WEEK 3 - Monday 20th July – Friday 24th July
- WEEK 4 - Monday 27th July – Friday 31st July
- WEEK 5 - Monday 3rd August – Friday 7th August
- WEEK 6 - Monday 10th August – Friday 14th August
- WEEK 7 - Monday 17th August – Friday 21st August
- WEEK 8 - Monday 24th August – Friday 28th August
Flexible availability across the summer holidays is highly desirable.
THE ROLE
As a Holiday Camp Assistant / Coach, you’ll support the delivery of fun, engaging and high-energy activity sessions for children aged 4–11 throughout the school holidays.
Working alongside our coaching and childcare teams, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive and energetic environment where children can stay active, build confidence and enjoy their summer.
This is a highly active role suited to individuals who enjoy sports, coaching, childcare and working in fast-paced environments with children.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Supporting and delivering sports, games and group activities
- Supervising children throughout the camp day
- Encouraging participation, teamwork and confidence
- Helping set up and organise daily activities and equipment
- Creating a positive and inclusive environment for all children
- Supporting children of varying abilities and personalities
- Following safeguarding, welfare and health & safety procedures
- Representing Munchkins Sports & Childcare with professionalism, energy and enthusiasm
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
At Munchkins, we hire personality, attitude and energy just as much as experience.
You do not need a formal childcare qualification for this role, however ideal candidates will have:
- Experience working with children in some capacity
- An interest in sports, coaching or physical activity
- A confident, positive and energetic personality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Availability during the summer holidays
This role is ideal for people with backgrounds in:
- Sports coaching
- Holiday camps
- Childcare or babysitting
- Teaching assistance
- Youth work
- Dance, fitness or performing arts
- Customer-facing roles involving children or families
No formal coaching qualifications are required — full training and support will be provided for the right individuals.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Following a successful initial telephone screening call, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend one of our Munchkins Sports Recruitment Evenings.
This is a fun and interactive group trial designed to help us get to know your personality, confidence and energy whilst giving you the opportunity to meet the team and experience the Munchkins environment.

Ice Breakers & Warm-Up Activities
We’ll kick things off with fun team games and ice-breaker activities designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork and showcase your personality and energy.
Activity & Game Creation Challenge
Candidates will work individually or in small groups to create and deliver a simple activity suitable for children aged 4–11.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the update service (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to travel to Putney camp locations
- A positive attitude and willingness to get involved

ADDITIONAL WORK OPPORTUNITIES
Alongside our Summer Holiday Camp programme, we also offer additional opportunities within our Wraparound Care & After-School Club programmes across our school sites.
These shifts typically run during term time either side of half terms and school holidays and can provide ongoing flexible work opportunities for successful candidates following the summer period.
WRAPAROUND CARE SHIFT HOURS
- Monday – Friday
- Typical hours: 15:00 – 18:00
- Additional breakfast club opportunities may also be available
These sessions involve supporting children in a fun, safe and active after-school environment through games, activities, sports and structured play.
