Pre-Delivery Inspection Technician

Location: Newport, NP19 4PT
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Pre-Delivery Inspection Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out pre-delivery inspections on vehicles to ensure they meet safety, quality, and presentation standards before handover to customers.

This role requires previous automotive experience and a strong eye for detail. You will be expected to inspect, prepare, and complete minor adjustments on vehicles to ensure they are in excellent condition and ready for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
Check vehicles for mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues before delivery.
Complete minor repairs, adjustments, and fault rectification where required.
Ensure all vehicles meet road safety, manufacturer, and company standards.
Inspect fluid levels, tyre pressures, battery condition, lights, brakes, and other key components.
Identify and report any defects, damage, or missing items.
Prepare vehicles to a high standard for customer handover.
Complete relevant inspection paperwork and records accurately.
Work efficiently to meet preparation and delivery deadlines.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience is essential in vehicle inspection, vehicle preparation, automotive servicing, or a similar role.
Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic diagnostics.
Ability to use workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Full UK driving licence preferred.

Desirable Skills

Experience working within a dealership, garage, or vehicle preparation centre.
Familiarity with manufacturer pre-delivery inspection procedures.
Basic computer skills for completing job records and reports.
