This requisition is for the South East Network team, with three positions available. Applications are encouraged from candidates living across South East Wales, including those based along the Welsh–English border
Standby requirement (1 in every 7 weeks)
7 week working pattern which covers between 7am-7pm.

What you’ll be responsible for
You will be a part of a high performing team responsible for managing an operational area to achieve regulatory, customer and performance related targets. You will ensure the sewerage infrastructure is managed to the highest standard whilst working within the agreed budgetary targets. This will include:
Assisting the Network Lead with the safe & efficient operation of the sewerage network, ensuring that all operational activities are undertaken in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner
Ensure all investigations are of the highest standard and undertaken in compliance with the relevant management procedure
Provision of technical support to service providers and Welsh Water operational staff
Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and procedures
Assisting the Network Lead with external stakeholders to develop and maintain strong regulatory relationships eg. Natural Resources Wales representatives, and participation with community groups when appropriate
Assessing asset condition utilising looksee CCTV equipment
Surface water rebate inspections
Assist the Network Lead with the effective management of the operational budget, through the promotion of effective repairs once a full investigation has been undertaken
Representing the company during incidents with outside agencies such as the emergency services, EHO, Local government etc
Emergency Response – provision and testing of appropriate functional contingency plans
Participating in a Standby rota to ensure we offer the highest standards to our customer 24hrs a day
Effective Liaison with Highway Authorities with regards to Streetworks defects
Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
About you
Full and valid driving licence
Ideally you will have a Civil Engineering background, qualified to HNC
An ability to think strategically but also able to ensure effective day to day delivery of services
Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
Ability to develop positive working relationships
Committed and hard working
Able to asses risk and adopt a safe working practice to undertake task
Wastewater experience is not required as training will be provided.
