The Role
As Production Manager at Lunaz, you will oversee the creation of some of the world’s most exceptional bespoke vehicles. You will lead each car through its complete production journey including restoration, paint and assembly, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship, engineering, quality and delivery as automotive icons are reimagined for modern use.
This is a high-impact, executive-level leadership role designed for a master-craftsman who is an expert educator, a rigorous project controller, and a strategic operations leader. You will have full ownership of the end-to-end restoration and assembly process, directing resources and removing roadblocks to maximize output. Your success will be defined by your ability to scale production through the coaching of our in-house team, the disciplined financial management of external technical partners, and the implementation of a strategy that ensures the build hall is the true heartbeat of vehicle delivery.

Development: Map and develop technical competencies, identifying gaps in traditional crafts and implementing structured training to build autonomy and speed.
People Management & HR Administration: Manage day-to-day departmental operations on People HR, including approving holiday requests, back-to-work forms, and reviewing/justifying overtime forms.
Talent Acquisition: Hold final sign-off authority on all new production staff hires to protect and elevate the workshop's talent density.
Performance Accountability: Advise and course-correct staff constructively when work does or does not meet the exacting standards of Lunaz.
3. Commercial, Budgetary & Cross-Functional Control
High-Level Estimating: Prepare rapid, high-level timing and cost assessments for all production activities, effectively translating workshop realities into clear data for the wider business.
Departmental Budgeting: Direct the production team to gather the foundational data required to build a sensible departmental budget, allowing cost and timing targets to be clearly locked in.
Procurement Accountability: Act as the primary "customer" to the Procurement department, holding them strictly accountable for ensuring all parts required for vehicle builds are delivered on time.
3rd Party Scope & Budget Management: Author detailed Technical Specifications/Statements of Work (SOW) for external partners to prevent scope creep. Negotiate budgets, manage variations, and audit vendor performance.
Business Integration: Attend core project meetings and business reviews when required to keep the restoration department perfectly aligned with corporate milestones.
4. Technical Integration & Quality Control
Stage-Gate Inspections: Implement rigorous quality checkpoints at every phase (strip-down, metal, paint, trim) to ensure the vehicle is "production-ready" for EV integration.
EV Interface: Collaborate with the EV Engineering team to ensure the chassis and body are perfectly prepared to house our proprietary electric modular powertrain.
Provenance Documentation: Ensure every vehicle is accompanied by a comprehensive build-book, documenting the restoration journey to the highest professional standards.
Skills & Competencies
Commercial Decision-Making: An outstanding ability to calculate time and cost vs. benefit expediently, matched with a deep understanding of opportunity cost.
