Are you an experienced Yard Supervisor or Yard Team Leader who enjoys leading from the front? Do you know what it takes to run a safe, organised and efficient builders' merchant yard while motivating a team to deliver excellent customer service? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a hands-on Yard Supervisor to join our Beaconsfield branch. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of a busy yard, ensuring high standards of health and safety, excellent stock control and outstanding customer service.

What you’ll be doing

Leading, motivating and developing a yard team of five or more colleagues.
Overseeing the day-to-day operation of a busy builders' merchant yard.
Coordinating goods in, goods out, customer collections and deliveries efficiently.
Ensuring stock is stored safely, accurately and presented to a high standard.
Operating a forklift and supporting the team with loading and unloading when required.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping and ensuring the yard is safe, organised and compliant at all times.
Carrying out and monitoring daily health and safety checks, ensuring PPE and safe working practices are consistently followed.
Managing forklift inspections and reporting maintenance issues promptly.
Working closely with the Branch Manager and wider branch team to deliver excellent customer service.
Supporting stock control, inventory accuracy and continuous improvement across the yard.

What we’re looking for

Experience supervising or managing a team of five or more people.
Proven experience running a busy yard within a builders' merchant or similar building products environment.
Good knowledge of building materials and an understanding of merchant operations.
A current Forklift Truck licence.
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Confident organising workloads, setting priorities and leading by example.
A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent communication skills.
Reliable, organised and able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Due to the location of the branch, you will need your own reliable transport.

Hours: 7.30am–5pm Monday to Friday, 7am–12pm alternate Saturdays
Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays
Salary: Competitive
Benefits: Discretionary bonus scheme
