Apprentice Care Navigator

Mickleover Medical Centre

Are you looking to begin a rewarding career in healthcare? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Care Navigator to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career or looking to gain valuable experience while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification. No previous experience in General Practice is required, as full training and support will be provided both in the workplace and through your apprenticeship programme.

Mickleover Medical Centre is a large GP practice caring for over 13,000 patients. As an Apprentice Care Navigator, you will play an important role in helping patients access the care and services they need.

Your duties will include:

Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries.
Signposting patients to the most appropriate clinician or healthcare service.
Welcoming patients at the reception desk and providing a professional, friendly service.
Accurately recording patient information using computer systems.
Completing a variety of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the practice.
Working alongside experienced colleagues while developing your skills and knowledge.

Working in a GP surgery is busy and rewarding. We are looking for someone who is positive, resilient, organised, and able to remain calm and professional, even during challenging conversations. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are essential.

You will need to be flexible across our opening hours of 7.45am to 8.00pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend working where required. Time off during the week or enhanced pay will be provided where applicable.
