Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Time Served Tool Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Plenmeller site based in Haltwhistle Northumberland UK, where we use Blow Moulding Technology to specialise in the production of plastic products for the consumer and chemical industry. This is a dual role fitting around the business needs to cover both areas as/when required.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure all moulds and associated tooling is maintained and ready for production when required to improve efficiency and output. To work to a planned maintenance schedule and respond to any breakdowns associated with moulds and tooling. To assist the engineering department with precision machining tasks. You would also when required work to the planned maintenance schedule to ensure all PPM activities are completed and documented. To assist with plant and machinery breakdowns, liaise with production and record actions. Carry out fault analysis to prevent reoccurring failures.
Key Responsibilities
ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Work safely at all times observing site rules and procedures.
- Maintain and repair mould tooling and associated parts.
- To perform precision machining tasks for production, engineers and technicians.
- Keep up to date with tool change schedule via planning reports and tool change meetings.
- Work to planned maintenance schedule.
- Maintain good level of spares.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
- Annual update of UN plates and date discs.
- Liaising with external suppliers.
- Carry out risk assessments and audits throughout the factory.
- Work towards continuous improvement in the tool room.
- Complete Hazard forms as required
