Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week (hybrid working - able to attend key meetings across Birmingham when required)

Do you want to make a difference to over 200,000 children and young people and their families in Birmingham? We’re embarking on a one-of-a-kind improvement journey that will affect families across the city. We’re putting evidence and a data-driven approach at the heart of this improvement journey to make sure we understand our citizens backgrounds, needs and views and can work collaboratively with our partners to design and deliver services that allow children and young people to thrive.

We’re looking for two dynamic and creative analytical professionals to develop insightful and impactful evidence that will lead to better outcomes for our children and young people.

About the Role

We are recruiting for two Data and Intelligence officers.

The first role is focused on Thriving Families. You’ll support the Children and Families Directorate and work closely with service teams, data and digital colleagues in developing intelligence, analysis and performance systems and products.

The second role will be focused on supporting the data and evidence needs of the Family Hub Project. This will include monitoring and evaluation, performance management and cross cutting analysis across a range of partners. This role will also support wider evidence and analysis work across Children’s and Families partners. You will be supporting effective data sharing and producing analysis to support the delivery of outcomes such as improving attendance.

Both roles offer opportunities to work on innovative projects and test out tools and technologies for supporting improved ways of working, supporting our modern data platform and cross-agency collaboration. Our data, intelligence and analysis underpin strategies and programmes to safeguard children and young people and improve their outcomes. As such, everything you do will be evidence-based, geared towards continuous improvement, and compliant with data protection legislation.

About You

An established professional, you’ll have substantial experience and an excellent knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data management, transformation and analysis. You’ll have excellent technical skills, particularly in Power BI and SQL, coupled with an ability to develop these skills in others, contributing to the team’s ethos of continuous learning and improvement.

You’ll combine advanced analytical skills with a can-do approach to problem-solving, working with teams to find new data sources, improving processes and testing innovative approaches to create insightful intelligence.

You’ll be an experienced, creative and passionate advocate for children and young people, with experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders, and external organisations.
